Over the past week, I've had a thrilling time birdwatching throughout the
northwoods of Duluth and Superior, as well as along the shoreline of
Duluth. On Thursday I showed some birdwatchers Sax-Zim Bog. Over Friday and
the weekend I helped out with the Sax-Zim Bog festival, which had a great
turnout; followed by Monday where I led a morning trip, followed by an
afternoon trip. Black-backed Woodpeckers and Great Gray Owls were seen
throughout Sax-Zim Bog, as were Boreal Chickadees. Throughout Monday's
trips, we were treated to not one, but two outstanding views of Hoary
Redpolls in Duluth. Monday's birding adventure ended by viewing a gorgeous
adult male Snowy Owl in Superior, WI. Below are some of my favorite
pictures from throughout the past week of birdwatching. Enjoy!
*On a side note, I had 9 MIGRATING Bald Eagles heading north over Duluth on
Monday afternoon. Crazy!

Hoary Redpolls. The last link is a fun quiz... pick out the two Hoary
Redpolls and the two Common Redpolls in the picture
