Tom Schaefer and I spent 1hr 30min atop the Lapham Peak tower which yielded 245 BROAD-WINGED HAWKS (one kettle numbered at least 80 birds), 3 SHARP-SHINNED, & 1 KESTREL. A low-flying PEREGRINE cruised overhead, but whether it was a migrant was not obvious by its flight style. Later, on our walk we were excited to find first of Fall YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, WINTER WREN, & GOLDEN-CR KINGLET. PURPLE FINCHES & RED-BR NUTHATCHES were also found. Approx a dozen warbler species were present with Tennessee and Yellow-rumped being the most numerous.
