And don't forget... If you run multiple patches without rebooting, you
need to run Qchain.exe when you are done to make sure that the "Replace
on reboot" list is replacing the right files with the right version...

Howdy,

Here is a list of all the switches for patches: (I got this info by
using the /? switch running a w2k3 server patch from a command line).

-u - Unattended mode
-f -Force other programs to close when the computer shuts down
-n - do not back up files for uninstall -o - overwrite OEM files
without prompting -z - do not restart when the install is complete -q
- quiet mode (no user interaction)
-l - list installed hotfixes.

To do what you want write a batch file to call all the patches you wish
to install using the -z and -q switches for all of the packages except
for the last package, which you would just need to use the -q switch,
then the system will re-boot after installing the last patch.

HTH,

Mike

Thanks ken however, using this switch reboots the system after a patch
install. Is there a switch which simply cancels the reboot

I basically have about 15 patches to roll out and need to do this via
script without reboot after each patch
