You can install the SUS Klient on any 2000/XP computer, regardless of SP. It ships with an MSI wich is ready to be publishd to a computer trough AD. I use this and it works great, if a computer has a low SP, the client installs, and the first thing it downloads, is the latest SP. So, if you have machines w/ just Win2k Pro SP2, you'll need to download and install this to them before they will be able to use an SUS server. http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/recommended/susclient/def ault.asp HTH J _____ From: windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Bill Beckett Sent: Wednesday, August 04, 2004 7:52 AM To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [windows2000] Re: SUS Question Thanks -----Original Message----- From: Sullivan, Glenn [mailto:GSullivan@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, August 04, 2004 10:47 AM To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [windows2000] Re: SUS Question SUS only support Windows 2000 and Windows XP. But, to answer the question, ANY Win2K or WinXP machine, regardless of the subnet or domain membership. It just must have port 80 access to the SUS server. We have alot of Win98 machines that aren't in the domain as they are used mainly as dumb terminals to connect to our Citrix boxes.
