To be perfectly honest, I think that it is worth the time to created a
scripted, CD based RIS install, and then figure out how to deploy
apps/registry settings/etc through GPO and Login Scripts.

Then, as long as the machine can PXE boot, you choose your "CD Based
Install" on the RIS Screen, put in a name and password, and then sit back
and wait. When the machine comes up for the first time, any Software is
deployed and machine specific settings are created by Startup Scripts.
Then, when the user logs on, further settings are deployed for that user.

It will be cleaner in the long run, and then you don't have to worry about
the hardware on the client. But that doesn't help you now...

Subject: [windows2000] RIS and Network Drivers

Hello,

I've made a RIS image from a machine using riprep and want to use it on a
slightly different machine. Is there a way to tell the text-mode portion of
the installation about new drivers and include them in the riprep image?
I've followed the instructions in this:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;246184

but it doesn't appear to have worked. Any people here with experience who
can tell me about common pitfalls and suchlike?
