STATUS: Full Time Employee
SALARY: $12 - $16 per hour depending on experience
PROJECTED START DATE: March 1st
~ JM Associates is a fast paced and growing business primarily
involved with assisting educational institutions. Our organization is
looking for a motivated and energetic IT Support Technician with good
communication and customer service skills. Reporting directly to the
Systems Administrator you will be responsible for providing help desk
support, accounts management, network troubleshooting and a variety of
other challenging tasks. This position has a huge learning potential as
you will be involved in nearly all phases of IT operations. We're
seeking someone who prefers open source but is willing to use any tool
necessary to get the job done.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- ----------------------------------------
* Desktop support for our network of win2k workstations.
* Build, maintain, and repair company computers.
* Telephone system support including moves, adds, and changes.
* Work with Active Directory, especially in user accounts and group policy.
* Maintain backups, and perform restoration tests.
* Install, configure, patch, and upgrade an wide assortment of software.
* Perform a variety of other duties as requested by Systems Administrator
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

* Certified as a Microsoft MCP, and as a CompTIA A+ Service Technician.
* High school diploma or equivalent required, some relevant college
training helpful.
* Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, Routing, Registry Editing, and Patch Cable
Manufacture.
* Able to clearly express complex technical concepts, both verbally and
in writing.
* Minimum one year of previous technical support experience.
* Basic programming knowledge in at least one language
* A working knowledge of Linux as we are migrating many of our systems
to that OS
* Willingness to work a flexible schedule including early, late, and
weekend hours.
* Must be able(and willing) to lift up to 70lbs.
