[windows2000] OT- Hyperlinks in MS WORD

Hello all,
I have a user that created a word document and in this word document he
has hyperlinks to .pdf's which are stored in a public network folder.
When he clicks on the hyperlinks he has no problem opening the
corresponding document. I checked the path of the hyper link and it does
point to the network folder. The problem we are having is when the
document is sent to other users, the hyperlinks stop working. I checked
the path of the links on another user's pc and for some reason it points
to the C: drive, rather than the network folder that it was originally
set up to point to. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? Does anyone
have any ideas as to what can cause this to happen?
