UPSs with extra battery life on the switches. We power all our WAPs though the net lines using power injectors so it all goes back to the closet. I've only had one *knocking on wood* problem with a power related issue with a WAP loosing connection when the forklifts in shipping warehouse caused an arc by hitting the metal shelves. I installed an APC rj45 jack surge protector at the switch and grounded it to the wall. No problem since then. ________________________________ From: windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Beckett, William (Bill) Sent: Monday, June 26, 2006 9:21 AM To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [windows2000] OT Off topic question related to power on key devices like access points and switches. Just curious as to what solutions you are all using regarding this. Do you just hang a backup battery off the units and this does the job for your needs? Or do some of you have a more robust solution for keeping your key network devices up and running...power wise?
