I am not sure what the right answer is but here is what I do to get the = "base" profile all of my mandatory profiles are based on. =20 on the workstation, bring up the system properties and go to the "User = Profiles" Tab. Select the profile you want to make mandatory and click = "Copy To". Click the browse button to save it where you can find it = again and then change permissions in "Permitted to Use". Just make it = for Everyone. Copy that .dat file to the user's roaming profile path = and rename it .man. I asked before and none of the responses helped, so I'm asking again... We have an NT 4 PDC, Win2k Pro workstation as part of the NT 4 domain, and a desire to have a user's Win2K Pro profile become mandatory on the PDC. I recall from the NT 4-only days one could set up a profile on an NT 4 box, copy the profile to the PDC, rename user.dat to user.man and that was pretty much it. I tried that, but am getting download permission errors. The Administrator and the user both have full permissions on the profiles folder. What might I be missing? Thanks.
