[windows2000] Moving an ASP.NET application and Web Service, from one server to another

We have an edge server, which points to another internal server where we
host an ASP.NET application and a .NET Web Service. (I believe the term
used is "virtual directory" or something like that.) Anyway, the server
that hosts the ASP.NET application and web service, is old and every time I
reboot that machine the hard drive sounds awful. Bottom line: I want to
move both the ASP.NET web application and web service to a new server.

My problem is I don't know how. What do I have to do, in order to make this
work?

I also have a related question. The ASP.NET application and web service had
been written originally using the .NET Framework 1.0. However, they have
been converted to .NET Framework 1.1. Do I have to install the .NET
Framework 1.1 onto the edge server, also?

What's keeping you from getting more from your terminal servers? Did you know,
in most cases, CPU Utilization IS NOT the single biggest constraint to scaling
up?! Get this free white paper to understand the real constraints & how to
overcome them. SAVE MONEY by scaling-up rather than buying more servers.
