Actually, you can share an outlook 2000 calendar with out exchange. It's a
built in feature in office 2000. Microsoft took away this feature in office
2003 (and office xp most likely).

File > Share > Calendar (or tasks or contacts). This will open the wizard
to configure who you are sharing your calendar with and what permissions
they have over it.

My LAN users really liked the calendar sharing and it worked very well,
until we upgraded to office 2003... Now, I guess, we'll need to get an
exchange server.

Subject: [windows2000] Groupware using Outlook Express?

Hi all,

Does the shared calender in the Outlook-family imply the need for an
Exchange-server and the sharp version of Outlook?

In other words, do I need an Exchange server and the outlook version from eg
Office 2000 to be able to use the shared calendar and meeting utils?

Are there any groupwares that do not need Exhange and that maybe is free?

Lotus Notes is out of the question BTW...

TIA.

BW,

Sorin
