[windows2000] Computer Accounts

Hello,
We're currently upgrading 20 machines to run XP Pro. To join them to our
(2000 native) domain, we right-clicked on My Computer, then on Properties,
then Computer Name, and Change (rather than use the NEtwork ID Wizard
thing). Even though I've already created computer accounts for the
computers in the correct OU, I still find new accounts being created in the
Computers container. Should this be happening? Strange thing is - they
seem to be using the accounts I created, rather than the ones they created
themselves (I deleted the original accounts and the machines couldn't log on
any more ;)
Would this happen if I used the Network ID wizard? I seem to remember that
pops up a box informing you that it found a computer account already made.
