Hi. It makes sense that it could be a DSP plugin, or some kind of plugin doing something, but going into ms config? Now, not to go off-topic here y'all, but what i'm gonna say requires a bit of explanation. See, typically, the ms config utility in windows is for taking programs out of your startup group when the computer starts. Now, unless you're really freaky, you probably wouldn't have anything relating to Winamp in your startup group, so it definitely makes sense to check and see if it might be some kind of plugin selected that could be causing the problem. But I'd stay away from ms config in this case.

I'm interested to know how it turns out though.

Hey, hope you won't think this stupid but I had the same problem with Win and it turned out I had a DSP plug-in selected that would let me close it. I think it was a DSP plug-in. I'm assuming you are using the classic skin right? I'd do an msconfig and disable all Winamp stuff, re-boot, then open it and see what happens when you try to close it. I'm assuming your using Windows XP? Other than the above problem, I haven't had any trouble. Well only one thing now that I think of it. When I have Winamp open and minimize it to do something else while listening to music or whatever, it disappears and I have to go to system try to get back in to it.

Hi Bob,
I have a similar problem; winamp will not exit unless I shut down the computer. No answer from the group. Don

Subject: Winamp not closing on exit

Hi,
I'm running version 5.32 but this has been happening for a while. If I'm
listening to a file with winamp and close winamp either by using alt-F-4 or
using the close option in the file menu, winamp seems to close but remains
in memory. If I try to play another file, another version of winamp starts
up and I have to wait several minutes before the file will play. If I use
task manager to close the first winamp program completely, the second file
runs ok. I do have the check box set to allow only one occurrence of
winamp.
Any thoughts on what's happening and how to solve this problem?
