Hi. Just do what Jim said, remove the scripts from your JAWS personal settings folder. start menu, programs, JAWS 7.10, explore JAWS sub menu, explore my settings. in that folder, delete all scripts having to do with Winamp. obviously choose whichever version of JAWS you're using, I used 7.10 as an example.

Hi

I hope this is not considered off topic but it is following the tread which
has developed with the release of 5.34.

How do you remove the Jym Win Amp scripts and re-introduce the FS ones for
JAWS 7.10?

Thanks

Peter Bentley

hi, sure why not.

before i share my setting on my copy of winamp, i must say that i dont
use
my winamp to search radio station nor TV station from the
media library, so if you does, i don't think this setting will suit you.

1. click the "i agree button" to accept the licence agreement.

2. select the type of install, i choose custom.

3. tab down once to the treeview:

winamp (required) - not check
winamp agent - not check
winamp library - check

(arrow right once to the level1 of the library treview) winamp media
library - not check core media library component - check
(arrow right once, here you need to check all accept "now playing")
transcoding tool - check
replay gain analysis- check
winamp dashboard - not check
SHOUTcast wire - not check
online media - not check
music IP mix- not check
portable media player support - check

modern skin support - not check
user interface extensions - check
audio file support - check
video file support - check
visualization - check
extra audio output/effect - check

thats all my settings, and now at least work quite good.

hi,
as for me, the winamp library is quite accessible. there is more and
more stuff you need to disable it during the installation for this
5.34 release. there is 1 call "music IP max" in the library treeview
that need to uncheck it. after i uncheck also another few items, now
my winamp library is quite accessible and there is no more error
message while exiting winamp.

Chris,

I meant that I was using the internal JAWS scripts, from FS, not Jim
Grimsby's! The library is worse than spotty, it is really
inaccessible and has been, from the last two versions, of the beta
build, by my reckoning. Wes Derby had a handle on things, I think. As
to this forum thing, I, for one, have no experience with that, at all.
I think that the fact that Win Amp hasn't had a credible tutorial, for
a long time, or, ever, is a big problem, don't you?

Regards,

-Mac-

I know that there were some scripts written by Jim Grimsby that
addressed issues in the media library in earlier versions of Winamp.
also, if you're using JAWS version 8.0 it's been proven that removing
these scripts actually improves access to the library because Nullsoft
has since made changes to it. so, i wonder if maybe removing the same
scripts under version 7.0 would do the same thing? I don't have
version 7 on my system to test things, so someone with JAWS 7 who
doesn't have the downloaded scripts will have to comment. These are
just curiocities here, unfortunately i'm not a scripter so I can't
answer anything like that. but access to the media library does seem
to be quite spotty of late.

I heartily agree with you, Ron! It seems that, from the last two
versions,
of the beta build, or so, media library access has become nearly
nonexistent! I know not everyone uses this feature, but, those of us who
have had a lot of use, out of it, need some concrete answers, as to how to
access it! I, for one, was just waiting until I heard that another Win
Amp
user found this problem to be "still there"!

I am using JAWS 7.0 on XP Home, with the JAWS scripts active, nothing
else!

What's UP with dat?

Hi Chris, Bruce or anyone else out there,

In the release notes, it says that changes have been made to increase
accessibility of the Winamp Library. I see no change--in fact I see a
degradation of accessibility in 5.34. Are there some settings that
must be changed to obtain this library accessibility?

Thanks in advance for any information.
