The 2nd Annual Cultures in Harmony and Motion International Music and Dance
Festival on September 29, 2012 will be held at the beautiful Casa del Prado
Theater in Balboa Park. The festival has two shows, at 1PM and 5PM. It is a
truly unique event bringing together some of San Diego's finest musicians,
dancers and scholars for a sensory journey around the world. The festival is a
collaboration between Worldview Project and San Diego Civic Dance Arts. Due to
the excitement generated by our 2011 inaugural event, this year's festival has

This year's festival will include the following music and dance traditions
performed by the very best artists in San Diego that specialize in those
traditions including: Ballet Folklorico, Afro-Cuban, Indonesian (Sundanese)
Gamelan, Gypsy Guitar, Japanese Taiko, Filipino tribal music and dance, Eastern
European Klezmer, Persian music and dance, Spanish Flamenco, Trans-Cultural
Jazz, Fado and it's all topped off by an extravagant Bollywood Finale! Please

Trang and Made in Brazil Snacks.
The emcee for the show is the ethnomusicologist and music department chair at
University of San Diego, Prof. David Harnish who, supplemented by lobby
displays, program notes and online resources, will educate the audience in the
musical and cultural traditions embraced by the festival performances.
