Job Opening: Executive Director, New England Homes for the Deaf
Letter from Judith Good, Current Executive Director, dated February 13,
2006:
I am asking your assistance in helping New England Homes for the Deaf
find a new Executive Director. I will be retiring from this position
after 19 years. During that time, we have built two new buildings, added
independent living and skilled nursing to our assisted living program.
We have achieved perfect Department of Health surveys and won the hearts
of the East Coast Deaf and Deaf/blind community.
But, it is now time for a new leader to take New England Homes to even
higher levels. We hope to find someone from within the Deaf Community.
It may be that we will not be able to find someone who holds a nursing
home administrator license from within our community. However, a person
with a Master's Degree, strong proven management skills, a love of the
Deaf and Deaf/blind elderly community and a desire to learn is eligible
to study for the administrators' licensure. New England Homes for the
Deaf will assist such a person through that process.
This is a very exciting position serving an underserved but very
deserving population. Please help me to locate the very best candidate
from within the community. Please post this announcement, copy it, send
it along - spread the word!
Feel free to call me if you have questions.
Sincerely,
(signed)
Judith Good
The qualified candidate should possess:
Five years senior management experience
Strong financial management skills
Knowledge of federal and state health care regulations
Knowledge of American Sign Language and Deaf Culture
Master's Degree in Business, Management, Health Care or related field
Nursing Home Administrator's license or the ability to become licensed
(meets the above requirements)
Respect for the Deaf Elderly Community
Apply to:
