Alert: Family Care Training Event

The Coalition of Wisconsin Aging Groups (CWAG), under a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services will provide a free Family Care training event on Thursday, August 30, 2007. It will be held from 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the CWAG offices, 2850 Dairy Dr., Madison, WI. The training will focus on options for long-term care for older people and people with disabilities through the implementation of the Family Care Program within Dane and Rock Counties. Participants will learn the current status of Family Care and what they can do to help shape it in Dane and Rock counties.

Alert: Healthy Wisconsin Events

A number of organizations are planning events around the state to present and answer questions about the Healthy Wisconsin plan. This health care reform plan was included in the Senate version of the state budget and is being discussed now. Details about the events are provided below.

Alert: Sen. Feingold Listening Sessions

U.S. Senator Russ Feingold will hold listening sessions in Trempealeau and Buffalo Counties on Monday, August 13, 2007. He will also hold sessions in St. Croix and Polk Counties on Tuesday, August 14, 2007.

Lastly, he will hold sessions in Burnett and Washburn Counties on Wednesday, August 15, 2007. Senator Feingold has pledged to hold listening sessions in all of Wisconsin's 72 counties each year of his six-year term. If constituents need special accommodations at the listening sessions they should contact Senator Feingold's Middleton office at 608-828-1200.

His Trempealeau County listening session will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Blair-Preston Community Center, 103 East Broadway, Blair.

His Buffalo County listening session will be held at 3:45 p.m. at the Nelson Community Hall, S105 North Main Street, Nelson.

His St. Croix County listening session will be held at 8:45 a.m. in the Community Room at Park View Home, 220 North Lockwood Street, Woodville.

His Polk County listening session will be held at 11:45 a.m. at the Clear Lake Village Hall, 350 - 4th Avenue, Clear Lake. His Burnett County listening session will be held at 8:45 a.m. in the Board Room at the Grantsburg Village Hall, 316 South Brad Street, Grantsburg.

His Washburn County listening session will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the Minong Village Hall, 123 - 5th Avenue, Minong.

Each session will last up to one hour. These meetings allow you the opportunity to express your views to the Senator on federal issues such as IDEA, Community Choice Act, Rehabilitation Act, housing, health care, voting and campaign finance, and ethics reform.
