CDHH Classes & Workshops This Fall

Upcoming Classes & Workshops at the Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Sign up now for American Sign Language Classes at CDHH. All ASL classes begin the week of September 10 and registrations must be received by September 4. Classes fill up fast so register early. Go online to www.cdhh.org for more information or to register. All classes are held at the Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, 10243 W. National Ave., West Allis.

American Sign Language I (Section 1)
Mondays, September 10 - November 26 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

American Sign Language I (Section 2)
Tuesdays, September 11 - November 27 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

American Sign Language II
Tuesdays, September 11 - November 27 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

American Sign Language III
Wednesdays, September 12 - November 28 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Communicating with Kids in Sign
Tuesdays, September 11 - November 13 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM
This class is for parents, grandparents, relatives, neighbors, babysitters and any adults who needs to communicate in sign language with a young child.

Wee Sign Too!
September 18 - November 6 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM
Wee Sign Too! is a new baby sign class being offered at CDHH that is designed specifically for hearing toddlers and their parents or caregivers.

Little Movers & Shakers Music Class
Fridays, September 14 - October 19 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM
This music class series is specifically designed for d/Deaf and hard of hearing children ages 6 months through 3 years. Take home materials are free courtesy of a Kindermusik Children's Fund Scholarship.

"A is for Access" Parent Education Workshop
Tuesday, September 25 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM
"A is for Access" is a cutting-edge workshop featuring a video/DVD presentation that explores legal mandates specific to the educational rights of students who are deaf or hard of hearing, Least Restrictive Environment vs. Language Rich Environment, and discusses what full and effective communication access really means. There is no fee to attend this workshop, but you must register by September 20.

There is an upcoming flu clinic that will be conducted by Aurora VNA's Shoo the Flu program.

This clinic has been specially set up for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals; an interpreter will be available to assist.

The Shoo the Flu Clinic will be at:
