MOPIX OC UPDATE
-- MoPix Update from WGBH - March 30

MoPix Update from WGBH- March 30

This week two more captioned offerings-- an animated tale from the folks at Disney about young inventor looking for his birth family, and two male skaters (one of them Will Ferrell) enter a pairs competition... calls to mind the old adage, where there's a Will, there's a way.

Meet the Robinsons from Buena Vista Pictures (cc only) (rated G)
Twelve year-old Lewis (voice of Daniel Hansen), a born inventor, is also an orphan who desperately wants to find his birth family. A mysterious stranger, Wilbur Robinson (Wesley Singerman), claims he can take Lewis to meet them. The only catch: They live in the far-flung future where Lewis meets an oddball group of characters who get him into all sorts of bizarre predicaments.

Blades of Glory from Paramount Pictures* (cc only) (rated PG-13)
When rival figure skaters Chazz Michael Michaels (Will Ferrell) and Jimmy MacElroy (Jon Heder) go ballistic in an embarrassing, no-holds-barred fight at the World Championships, they are stripped of their gold medals and banned from the sport for life. Now, three-and-a-half years on, they've found a loophole that will allow them to compete: if they can put aside their differences, they can skate together – in pairs' figure skating.

* The Media Access Group at WGBH has worked with Paramount Pictures to develop a conversion method that will enable caption files prepared for select films from the studio to play in Rear Window-equipped theaters. Blades of Glory is the first title. The next Paramount film that will be accessible to Rear Window users is Disturbia, set to debut on April 13. See more info about Disturbia below in the "MoPix Films Coming Soon" section. Great news all around for Rear Window fans. Enjoy, and welcome Paramount!

MOPIX IN THE NEWS
Last weekend, CNN ran a story on captioning for movie theaters, and MoPix was highlighted. And it was a two-hit week for MoPix press, as Cincinnati Post columnist Karen Meiman met a very content MoPix fan and decided to write a story about the technology. Here's the link to see that story: http://news.cincypost.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070327/LIFE/703270360/1005
