Sophos has issued protection for W32/Traxg-B.

At the time of writing, Sophos has received a small number of
reports of this worm from the wild.

Customers using EM Library, Enterprise Console, PureMessage or
any of our Sophos small business solutions will be automatically
protected at their next scheduled update.


Note: The IDE issued for W32/Traxg-B at 07:56 GMT on 24 Dec 2004
also contained detection for Troj/NuclRat-B, Troj/LdPinch-FU,
W32/Rbot-MX, Troj/Agent-AD, Troj/LdPinch-AC, Troj/Dropper-H,
Troj/Dloader-CX, W32/Forbot-BG and W32/Forbot-BH. This IDE has
now been updated to enhance detection of Troj/Dloader-CX.

W32/Traxg-B is a worm that attempts to spread using Microsoft Outlook. 
W32/Traxg-B copies itself to several locations using randomly generated 
filenames and creates the following registry entry in order to run on Windows 
startup: 
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\TempCom 
W32/Traxg-B may set the following registry entries in order to modify the 
behaviour of Windows Explorer: 
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\
Hidden = 0 
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\
HideFileExt = 1 
W32/Traxg-B may create the file c:\folder.htt. This file may be deleted.
