Correction, Self-powered USB hub. Also, you would plug that into a socket at the back, if possible, not the possibly defective one. Even if the wireless device is stil working off that, it may eventually stop. (Unless you want to uninstall the program, and stop the warning messages, and see if the problem 'goes away'.) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Flor Lynch" <florlync@xxxxxx>

Hi Aine,

It's possible the socket has 'gone south', as front USB sockets tend to do at some stage after wear-and-tear. Either plug it into a different USB socket, see if that works, or get a self-powered USB hub which you plug in to AC power, that has four or six connections for USNB leads.

Hi guys,
Having a bit of an issue regarding an announcement on my laptop. I am working on a certain program and jaws tells me u.s.b device not recognised and that it is malfunctioned, also windows doesnt recognise it... Needless to say im bamboozled as to what this means as iv only one u.s.b cable in and thats my wireless broadband. Sometimes it keeps repeating this message to the point of me having to shutdown and reboot. Iv also noticed on turning on laptop its much slower to start up. Any suggestions?
Many thanks
