Hi Paddy,
Try the following:
1. When you begin to save your document, you are asked for a file name.
Give
it a file name of your choice.
2. After having given the document a file name, press "tab key" once and
you
are in the "save as file types" box. Here arrow up or down till you come
to
(Word document).
3. Now tab over to the "save button" and press the spacebar.
This will now save your file as a word document.
