Paddy,

From your information, This looks (to us) like a trial and error thing. If the formatting of the document doesn't matter a lot to whomever you wish to see it, when you tab to Save As press t for Text and you will be given a few options including 'text with layout .ans', et al. or, if the formatting does matter, if you see the ex sp format - whatever that is - in the Save As dialogue, pick it. Does the document read ok in Microsoft Word? did you write it yourself in Microsoft word, or was it given to you by somebody else? Is it a .docx file?
