Dorothy, Tony & Hazel, thanks to all for all the advice and the Bosch
Classixx seems to be the popular machine and from all accounts quite
accessible and it is great to have this information prior to going to
the shop to purchase.

Many thanks to all,

Noreen M.

Hi, Noreen,

We recently purchased a new machine. When ordering your machine you can
obtain the manufactures telephone number and request them to Braille the
Control panel. They will send the panel off to RNIB and about 6 weeks
later they will contact a washing machine engineer to fit it for you.
Each programme is labelled with a different letter indicating the
different cycles, and then you receive a key listing the different
cycles. I Brailled

this list unto a magnetic sheet, which I obtained from RNIB. and it is
now

attached onto the side of the fridge. It is great. No excuse now! Smile.

We bought a bosch Classic 1200. But I expect most manufactures would do
a good job too.

Happy washing,

Hazel Flannigan.

Subject: [vip_students] Washing machine query

With Paul's permission I am looking for some information.

After 12 years of trouble free use from my zanusi washing machine and as
it has failed to switch off when refilling during last two washes I
think I now need to look for a replacement. Any advice welcome on which
machines people find accessible with or without bumpons?

Many thanks,

Noreen M.
