have you got SAPI5 voices, or , Microsoft voices? If you have an 'unlocked' Eloquence it might work. the JAWS version of it can't be used outside of JAWS.

This is annoying me too,
In terms of NVDA, is there any way of getting it to use the eloquence
or similar version
All the best,
Declan

Hi Flor, Thanks for that. Yes my jaws is version is 8.04 and I had to roll back on explorer 8 to a prefvious version to use it. The real problem now
is that when I visited a site such as sport active, I was told that my
internet browser was incompatible with the site and there was a link to mozilla firefox. I'll hve a look at N.V.D.A. after the feasting when there
will be a lull in life. Thanks Gerry

Gerry,

If you're going to use Firefox, it should be an older version than the current one with your JAWS. (Version 3.5 or, at highest, 3.6.) You'll find
older versions of Mozilla [note spelling] firefox at

www.oldversion.com/ or www.oldapps.com/

You may be able to find older versions of Firefox on

www.mozillafirefox.com/

have you tried the NVDA screen-reader? It's free, and is up to date, and
is pretty good with later versions of Internet Explorer. check out

www.nvda-project.org

for the download and documentation. (You might find the native eSpeak
voices a little hard to get used to; but you could otherwise switch to a
Microsoft or another SAPI voice.)

it is unclear from your message which version of JAWS and/or which version
of internet Explorer you are using. I am therefore assuming JAWS8 and
Internet Explorrer 8, which are quite incompatible.
