The problem with translation programs and apps is that there can often be a
number of meanings for a given word, depending on the context. It is the same
with English

Hi,
Google Translate is fairly accessible, but results can be a little ropey.
For instance, I am going to a conference in Turkey next week and I translated
the conference programme from Turkish to English. Instead of the word
"supports", the translation spat out the word "heating". I guess they must be
similar in Turkish. So, according to the translation, one session of the
conference relates to heating for people with vision impairments when seeking
employment.
Take care,
Gerry Ellis

Hi Eamonn,
The Duolingo app is quite well-known and is accessible. (There's also
a PC version of it at www.duolingo.com .)

Are there any language apps for the iPhone?
I'm thinking specifically, of something for translating English
phraises into Italian and vice-aversa.
Thanks,
Eamonn
