Hi Lana!

The main advantage is that it can be a little more accurate, and particularly if it's a thin pen, it can give you a bit better view of the screen. I know I have a game on my phone where you have to drag a dot from the bottom to the top, and there are balls floating randomly around - I find it much, much easier to do that game with a pen because I can see where I'm ducking and weaving around the balls.

Also in apps which you can hand write in (there are some which convert your handwriting to type and actually seem to do a good job of it - though whether it's faster or easier is another thing), it feels much more natural to anyone who learnt to write with a pen.

With something like the S-Pen or other tablets which might be able to use a particularly small stylus, it could also allow for finer control in things like drawing apps. I know I used to play one of those pictionary type games with a friend who used to draw fantastic drawings, because she used a stylus (stylus / pen / whatever you want to call it) - I think she was also a much better drawer than me, but she did say it made it much easier.

Probably most of the benefits are more for those looking at the screen - if you are relying totally on Talkback, then arguably there might not be as much benefit, except perhaps for finer control maybe if you have particularly big fingers? I'd be curious to hear from any speech only users who have tried a stylus?

Regards

Quentin.
