Just a reminder of our 4th annual trip to the Vulcan Quarry on Saturday 20
Sept. No limit on folks-please call or email off the list if you're
interested.. Thanks
Hope you can join RAS and the enthusiastic team from from Vulcan Royal Stone
Quarry in Goochland for a mixture of birds and geology. This will be our 4th
annual trip with Vulcan. Our hope for this Certified Wildlife Habitat is that
we can find a few new species to add to their species inventory. Vulcan has
been home to nesting Ravens in the past.
This trip is for you if:
-you like birds
-you like rocks
-you like cool earth-moving equipment
-you like to be treated like royalty (must be the Royal in Royal stone)
-you are geared towards easy walking and interesting habitat
-you like to see industry and nature successfully co-exist
Trip is Saturday Sept. 20, Meet at 8 am at the scale house. The trip is easy
walking-not much shade so be prepared for sun exposure. Vulcan Royal Stone
Quarry is located in Goochland and is easily located 3 miles north of Broad
Street off Pouncey Tract Road. Bring the kids, your neighbors, your parents and
be prepared for a great outing.
There is no limit to participants but we would like a head count for our
generous hosts at Vulcans. Any questions please email me off the list serv at
juliekazz@xxxxxxxxxxx or call after 9 pm at 530. 3660
Thanks-hope to see you out there,
Julie Kacmarcik
