When the trail down by the river is flooded, a walk along Riverside Drive will often turn up some good birds. Downstream toward Reedy Creek is probably a little more pedestrian-friendly. Also, the trail from the foot of the stairs that runs off to the left below the parking lot can be a nice little walk, especially when the thrushes start moving through - they like the open wooded hillsides along that trail. Instead I went up to Forest Hill Park to walk around. A Louisiana Waterthrush was singing mightily at the stream just down from the lake. There, too, was a beautiful Hooded Warbler, singing his heart out. Not much else there, not even any Parulas or Yellow-throated Warblers.
