Thus far there are 47 color-banded males distributed about Dutch Gap. The majority of them were color-banded by Charlie Clarkson, one of Charlie Blem's graduate student's doing the fieldwork for his thesis out there. I checked the 56 boxes on the interior loop (large lagoon) for nesting activity today. Counted 38 eggs. Caught a female, safely returned from last year, already sitting on a completed clutch of 5 eggs! Not sure if she recognized me.
