Margaret-- Hey, but did you have a great trip?! Are you going to put on a RAS program showing all the great birds you saw? Forget about the dogs...spring is here and we're getting great birds though our backyards and parks. All the dog-averse birders need to chill out a bit. We need to co-exist with dog owners who enjoy the companionship of their pets, and hunters who kill various duck species but pay for wetland preservation. Who are we, as birders, to think that we have exclusive ownership of local parks?! Our local parks are also used by walkers, hikers, dog-walkers, birders, soccer-players, basketball-players, picnickers, and other nature-lovers who want a respite from urban grind. Cheers. Glad to see that you're back safe and sound...did you get great birds? I'll bet. I was at a remote wildlife reserve, and there were signs everywhere that no dogs were allowed. Despite this, there was a couple that brought a large dog, and let him off the leash on the beach with the penguins. There was a huge sea lion on the beach who would have has this dog for lunch if it had gotten close enough! Margaret O'Bryan You are subscribed to VA-Richmond-General.
