Nighthawkers:
I went back over the past 7 years of my Common Nighthawk data from my
watchsite at Van Dyke Park, Fairfax City, VA to compare the date I started
the watch with the date I first recorded nighthawks with the following
results:
1999-2000-2001-2002-2003-2004-2005
First Watch 8-18 8-13 8-15 8-15 8-15 8-16 8-14
First Seen 8-19 8-14 8-15 8-20 8-15 8-16 8-17
For the most part I saw nighthawks within 2 days of starting to watch.
The strange year was 2002 when they seem to be late, but numerically it was
still one of my better years.
