As reported in today's Washington Post, Fairfax County approved it operating
budget yesterday which included the cutbacks at Riverbend and Hidden Oaks
Parks. Thus, effective July 1, 2003, Riverbend Park gates would not open
until 9 AM.
That's the bad news. The good news is that Supervisor Mendelsohn, in
responding to those who e-mailed him about the park cutbacks, indicates that
he is working with Park Authority personnel to keep Riverbend's opening hour
at 7 AM and believes the effort will be successful.
Now back to birds.
