I checked with the Latin teachers where I work and they said two pronunciations
are correct- you can say ini as inee, sounding like the
word mini, or you can say ineye. Although it may have been taught years ago, no
longer is eenie considered correct. There's your Latin
lesson for the year. Have fun with those taxonomic bird names!
