I'm writing an article for our local neighborhood newsletter about the
summer visitors that breed in the neighborhood in Chesterfield County. The
habitat is mixed woodland and the most probable candidates are Yellow-billed
Cuckoo, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Pewee, Acadian and Great Crested
Flycatchers,
Yellow-throated and Red-eyed Vireos, Wood Thrush, Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher,
Ovenbird, Chipping Sparrow, and Summer and Scarlet Tanagers.
Does anyone know if any of these species raise multiple broods in one
season? I'm interested to see how that compares with year-round residents
such as
Robins and Bluebirds.
