Linda Millington joined me for a three hour frigid birding trip at Neabsco
Creek and Leesylvania. The ice is thick at neabsco and there were so few
birds, even at low tide, that it was hardly worth while. Leesylvania was more
entertaining. Over 2 dozen eagles on the ice, as well as several hundred
Lesser Scaup, over a hundred Common Mergs, a dozen or so Hooded mergs, and a
handful of mallards and Black Ducks. Ring-billeds, Herrings, Greater
Black-backed Gulls, and a Lesser black-backed Gull also were present. We
didn't see any Goldeneyes, however. Cold, yes, but it was fun to get out.
