Yesterday at about 10:30a.m. while June was helping us identify wildflowers,
Bill, Jim & I heard a MOURNING WARBLER singing on our farm 4 miles West of
Galax, but were unable to get a satisfactory visual. This morning at about
7:45 as it sang from a dense thicket of roses & bittersweet, etc, I quietly
waited until it finally moved a short distance to a less dense area where I
was able to get several fantastic, close looks.
Last evening we had a BEAR strolling down an old country road in front of
our house.
