Hello VA-Birders:
There was a Louisiana Waterthrush at Great Falls Park (Fairfax County) when
I was there late this afternoon. I saw him along the path next to the river
upstream from the Visitor Center, about a hundred yards beyond the old canal
entrance. He was moving in low branches of trees that today were partially
submerged in the flooded Potomac. Although the water level was down from
yesterday, the river at Great Falls today was still a raging torrent. As I
watched the waterthrush through my binoculars I saw him chipping but could
hear nothing but the roar of the river.
