Howdy all,
The last two days have seen an increase in the YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS in the
area. We had a pretty decent day yesterday but today was a bit slow. The light
rain/mist showers today kind of put a "damper" on things. All in all, it has
not been too bad.
Yesterday we banded both NASHVILLE and HOODED WARBLERS. We also caught our
first WINTER WRENS and HERMIT THRUSHES of the season. Guess fall is really here
now. Sparrow numbers are picking up and the long-distant migrants a dropping
off. Today was about the same. We caught our first BLUE-HEADED VIREO of the
season. Also had three extremely fat BLACKPOLL WARBLERS as well. The Scarlet
Tanager was the third for the season.
Saturday looks kind of good right now! Should be a large mass of YELLOW-RUMPS
coming with this one! Better get my sleep!
Here are the totals for the last two days.
