Hi,=20
Lisa and I went to Huntley Meadows Park, Fairfax County, this morning. =
A nice sunny morning. A stop at Roaches Run in Arlington County =
produced a few Hooded Mergansers and the usual gulls and geese. Two =
invisible calling birds may have been American Pipits, with additional =
noise provided by the highway and airport rendering the identification =
uncertain. Huntley was quiet; near the start of the boardwalk Lisa =
spotted an American Tree Sparrow and there were at least 4 Field =
Sparrrows and a Winter Wren along with Song, Swamp, White-throated =
Sparrows and Dark-eyed Juncos. Out in the middle of the boardwalk three =
Horned Larks flew over while handsome Hooded Mergansers and Green-winged =
Teal dodged Mallards, Canada Geese, and Ring-billed Gulls. Eastern =
Bluebirds were the most colorful landbird. And an immature Bald Eagle =
and a Red-tailed Hawk provided more aerial distraction. =20
