Hi, all-
I ahve had to reformat and recover my computer six times in four days so
I want to make sure I have the right address here and that I get a copy of
this e-mail.
To make this an official bird report, I believe I saw a male Merlin in
Richmond Monday morning, near the Dumbarton Library on Staples Mill Rd. THis
is about 100 yards or so from where I saw one last year (I think it was last
year). The odds are good I would think that this is the same bird. As with
teh bird form last year, it was sitting on a power line (not a pole - the
actual line). The bird was very dark and not very big, making me think it
was a male, rather than a female. I remember being told that Sharpies and
Coops generally do not perch on wires. Thoughts?
BTW, can anyone give me the posting e-mail address of the Richmond listserv
(not the subscribe one. The one to send sightings to)? Thanks.
Michael Shapiro
