Just a general update on progress at the
Knob as I have not been very good at keeping
up postings. After the two good days last week-
end (797 Sat., 1361 Sun.), Mon. and Tues. dropped
off considerably (251 Mon. and 437 Tues.). The
bottem dropped out Wed. as the winds died and the
clouds disappeared. Battling gnats and solid blue skies
Wed. and Thurs., we had 18 and 41 birds respectively.
Today, with more of a breeze and clouds all day, we
could do no better than 47 birds, and we're faced
with the realization that we have probably missed
most of the Broad-wings as they have either over-
flown us or bypassed us. The next couple days should
tell the tale for sure.
   Totals for the year to date are as follows;

OS      137
BE       41
NH       22
SS       91
CH       20
NG        2
RS        4
BW     3257
RT       68
AK       20
ML        2
PG        7
UN       27

Total   3703

Harvey's Knob is located on the Blue Ridge Parkway
at Milepost 95.4, about 10 miles north of the junction
of Rt. 460 at Roanoke, Va.
