Visitors:
The Knob was full of people all day. Lots of regulars including the
Hudgins, Barry Kinzie, The Eppersons, Clark &
Stephanie, Mike Purdy, Mike Crowder, and all three Goffs, who take such
good care of me.
Great to see John Pancake.
Weather:
With a front moving through the night before, the day consisted of a
cloudless sky until noon, then heavy cumulus the rest of the day,
accompanied by a steady 10+mph wind throughout.Beautiful and clear.
Raptor Observations:
Slow. 6 birds until 11:00, then it started to pick up.
Good falcon day, and the first adult Golden Eagle of the season at 3:00.
Needed a Bald eagle to break the single season record of 69, which was set
yesterday. At 4:15, not one, but two adults appeared together to break the
record.
Continued to add to the record Osprey season with another 4
Non-raptor Observations:
Heavy Blue Jay movements through the area until midday
Finally got an Alaska plate, Baron!
Predictions:
Bring on the West winds, the accipiters, and more falcons!
