Birders,
While traveling east on Oceana Blvd this afternoon at around 3pm and noticed
a large bird flapping and the first thought that jumped in my mind was Black
Vulture. Then I realized I was seeing the classic flap, flap, glide of an
accipiter...a large one. Finally as I was about the pass the bird (50
mph...OK...I cheated and was at 55mph) I realized the BULK of the bird and see
an
overall light brown color. Of course I could never be SURE, but I think I was
looking at juvenile GOSHAWK! The best part is....I didn't wreck the car and
can
report it! :-)
