Howdy all,
Today was back to the lower numbers again. After yesterdays impressive 104
birds, I was hopeful that today would be ok as well. Not the case. We dropped
back down. A long way down. We only banded 20 birds this morning. Nothing of
note really. The most interesting capture was a female PINE WARBLER (with a
brood
patch) that was NOT banded! We have banded pretty much all the Pine Warblers
in the area over the last two years. I wonder how she managed to make it this
long!
Here are the totals for the day 5/17:
Black-throated Blue Warbler 2
Magnolia Warbler 3
American Redstart 2
Blackpoll Warbler 3
Common Yellowthroat 1 not that "common" today
Pine Warbler 1
Northern Waterthrush 2
White-eyed Vireo 1
Swainson's Thrush 1
Veery 1
Gray Catbird 3
TOTAL -------------------------------- 20
Cheers,
