"Forensic Files"
Lt. Aileas McKay - Five of Twelve, Lt. Viviana Lazzara-Henderson, Sergeant
Major Vincent Aigremont

Something in the pit of Vivieâs stomach was telling her that something was
off about this whole mess, and that she was about to walk right smack into a
swamp of more information that didnât sit right with her. As she made her way

down to the morgue, she hoped that Five would have something, anything, that
would point the finger at someone besides Josh. Stepping into the small room
just outside the morgue, Vivie tapped on the window and motioned for Five to
join her. She hated morgues and wanted to avoid actually having to go inside.

5 of 12 looked up at the tapping and nodded at the security officer.
Placing a hand on the arm of her partner, she pointed over to the window.
Vincent
looked over also and followed her over. Both of them stepped into the office.
"What is that we can do for you today?" she said.

âGive me something to take back to my CO.â Vivie replied as she looked at
each scientist in turn. âWeâre taking heat from the brass on this case.
They
want to know whoâs killing off delegates and Federation employees.â

Vincent stepped forward, pulling off his gloves and tossing them into the
recycler. "Two were killed in what at first appeared to be a fight, I believe
they fought back against the assailant. The other two both died of snapped
necks. The bruising to each victim's face, neck and shoulders is consistent
with a left-handed murderer and the angle of said bruises indicates that
person would he over six feet in height." He paused briefly and glanced into
Vivie's eyes. "You realize that I am using as many laymen's terms as I can
but
when you read the report, you will be required to have at least a certain
amount of knowledge of the terminology?"

Vivie looked at Vincent while trying not to sigh. âJust because I have a
Louisiana accent doesnât mean I donât understand, Sergeant Major. This
isnât
after all my first murder case, nor is it my first time dealing with
Forensics. So why donât you worry less about dumbing things down for little
olâ me
and focus on giving me the information I need to do my job.â

Glaring at the arrogant Frenchman, 5 of 12 said, "The first two victims
were initially sedated using a very unusual drug that we have yet to identify
completely but it has a similar effect on them as a strong dose of anesthetic
would on a human."

âSo they were knocked out so they couldn't fight back.â Vivie replied as
she thought out loud. âWhich means the Maritu in sick bay was meant to be the

next broken neck vic.â Taking out her padd, Vivie started to take notes on
what
she was hearing and what she was thinking. âConnect with Doctor Michaels to
work on finding out what the drug was and if thereâs a way to wake up our
only living vic.â Looking back up at the duo she asked, âYou said you
thought
that they were fighting off the attacker. Was there any evidence, skin under
the finger nails, finger prints, hairs...â

Vincent continued. "I discovered a perfect set of prints on each knife
handle, human in origin. They belong to an Ensign Joshua Garrity. Other than
that, the evidence for a fight is clear from the lacerations to the face and
arms of each victim. There is no other evidence pointing to Ensign Garrity."

Vivie kept her expression neutral. Prints on the weapons, means. Conflicts
with at least two of the vics, motive. Two out of three strikes against Josh.
â
What about on the snapped necks? And times of death?â

"There were no prints on the first two bodies," 5 of 12 said. "The Ar
bitrator died approximately two hours before Sick Bay became overwhelmed with
people. The second victim died approximately one hour before the black out."

Vincent nodded. "The other two died at some point during the black out. I
am sorry we cannot be more specific at the present time, their physiology is
hard to judge."

âWeâll need all your information as soon as possible. Official reports,
catalogs of evidence, pictures of the vics and weapons, ect.â Vivie managed
to
get out as flatly as she could. âIf you come up with anything on drug or
anything else at all let me know ASAP.â

"Of course," 5 of 12 said, pulling a fresh set of gloves on. "We will be as
efficient as we can."

âOf course you will.â Vivie replied as she figured out what to do next.
Sheâ
d talk to Kaartaren, then take everything sheâs gotten so far to TâLeara,
bring Josh in for questioning, and fit in a stiff drink and time to feel ill
over all this. âThank you.â

Vincent nodded. "You are most welcome." The two scientists filed out and
back to their work. There was something troubling him about some of the
evidence, he just couldn't put his finger on what exactly.

Vivie watched as the two went back off to work. She even watched then
through the window a moment. Evidence never lies right? So why did this all
feel so
wrong? Vivie shook her head and sighed as she turned and left the room. Time
to talk to Joshâs shrink.
