³Breaking News² Long flowing black hair with purple highlights framed a pale face and bright blue eyes. The young woman looked up from a padd and right into the floating camera that hovered a few feet away at just the right distance. A small square just under the camera lens counted down the seconds before the video feed went live all across the Federation on the BBC¹s newsnets. When the green light appeared on the camera the young woman smiled. ³The atmosphere here on Deep Space Vega Prime has been a solemn one ever since the disappearance of the Federation starship, U.S.S Banshee-C several months ago.² There was a crowd of other reports behind the dark haired young woman whose English accent was crisp, proper, and very posh. There was a podium just beyond the crowd with an official Starfleet logo on it. Behind the podium was a Federation flag. The whole thing was set up just outside the offices of the Pathfinder II Project. ³There has been no word on what happened to Banshee, at least not officially. The only information give to the media was that the ship was lost in the area of space known as the Bad Lands, and that Admiral Sara Kaelyre of Starfleet Command was heading up the so named Pathfinder II Project. That is, until recently. Early this morning the mood on Deep Space Vega Prime shifted drastically, and then an hour ago the media was asked to gather for a press conference.² As the reporter finished speaking an older human woman with auburn hair streaked with silver, more silver than had been there a few months ago, and sporting the uniform of an admiral stepped up to the podium. ³May I have your attention please.² She paused while everyone and every recording device in the room focused on her. ³I am Admiral Sara Kaelyre, commanding officer of the Pathfinder II Project. I¹m going to make a brief statement, but no questions at this time.² The admiral paused as she tried to school her features, but she just could quite keep the smile off her lips. ³At 2247 hours Federation standard time yesterday, Lt. Commander Jaidev LeBeau and his team of engineers and scientists aboard the U.S.S Tempest and U.S.S. Fenchurch received a single using a devise that the Commander and his team have been working on for months. That single was confirmed as being from the U.S.S. Banshee-C.² Whispers , gasps, and other mumblings filling the crowd, but Sara went on. ³Using this device as well as the one responsible for Banshee¹s disappearance, LeBeau and his team were able to work with teams aboard Banshee, headed by Lieutenant James McEntire and Lieutenant Li Nalas Kabuki, to create a stable wormhole. At 0007 hours Federation standard time this morning, stardate 62448.4, old Earth date December 25th, 24**, the U.S.S Banshee-C 110611, emerged through that wormhole. They¹ve come home.² The buzz in the room erupted and as reporters began throwing questions at her, the Admiral stepped away from the podium and ducked back into her offices. The hovering camera focused once again on the young woman with dark, purple streaked hair. She blinked several times before finally looking into the camera. ³Months of heartache and worry have come to an end, and on today of all days. The U.S.S. Banhsee-C has been found. t is indeed a very Merry Christmas throughout the Federation. Sarah Braddock reporting for the BBC, live on Deep Space Vega Prime.²
