..........CONTINUATION T'Shana slurps a bit more of her tea, thinking of what came next. Especially since the events she is describing at the moment are not part of her memory, but only what she read in the doctor's report and word of mouth. "The doctor set out to search the crew for possible donors, but could not find a match. His search was made even more difficult, since we were in a battle and he had to address other matters going on... including hostile forces boarding the Columbia. "By then, we had arrived at a wormhole leading straight out to Space Station Nigala, way out in the Beta Quadrant... well, not quite as way out as we are, but hard to reach from the Alpha Quadrant without cutting off time with the wormhole. And before long, the Captain took measures in his own hands and sent the Ledger Domain, his special craft, via remote control straight to the warbird and blew it up. The blast from the explosion, however, unexpectedly threw us into the wormhole... and as we traveled through its corridor, the fight within the ship was still going on. "The Columbia was thrown out the other end... badly damaged and a distress call was sent out. Fortunately, the Nigala wasn't far off... matter of fact, in view... and they immediately sent three ships out to help. It was a good move on their CO's part, since we had a little surprise on our tails... the ship that apparently brought the intruders close to the Columbia had escaped the explosion, too, and followed us through the wormhole... and though small, it wasn't gonna give up its hostile stance... ugh... it cloaked and began firing on the Columbia and the three ship that came to aid her.... She finishes her cup of tea, shaking her head, considering how wild this tail must seem. "Eventually, the Captain order all of the crew beamed to a special reinforced R&D section on the Columbia... and then, he vented the atmosphere from the rest of the ship... essentially hoping to kill the intruders... “Well, it did. All but five of them, who somehow had found a pocket somewhere to survive. Of that wasn't discovered until the Columbia was hauled in to the station for repairs.... that was after the other ships were able to pinpoint that Rihannsu ship and destroy it.” She gets up and orders another tea from the replicator. Instead of sitting back down, she begins pacing back and forth. “I still don't know how they did it, but I've been told they had... which was later on confirmed.... but I'm getting ahead of myself. “Anyways, by the time I woke up in the infirmary, every was over and the Columbia was almost done with repairs and ready head back out and back to the Alpha Quadrant.... the Columbia's Captain had arranged for me to stay on the Nigala for a while until I was 100% again... and apparently the Nigala's CO had agreed to that. “It was when I woke up in the recovery room, next to a Romulan Starfleet officer, when I finally found out how I had survived.... the surprise of his disclosure was a bit more than I had expected....” She stops her pacing, taking a long gulp from the tea. The valerian root extract had calmed her down, but this part of the story still made her heart race. “The Romulan Starfleet officer awoke and introduced himself to me as Commander Havraha cha'Aanikh. He informed me that he had donated the elements that saved my life. Of course... at first I didn't quite believe him, but since the doc on the Columbia had discovered that I was part Romu...Rihannsu... dang I keep forgetting to say it right...” T'Shana steps up to the window, staring out into the darkness of space. Her eyes briefly focus on the reflection of herself in the surface of the window. Saying that was still hard for her to do. She sighed. “The stations CMO came in not long after we both awoke and confirmed the Commander's story... he also gave us both some more unexpected news...” She clenches her jaw, drinking the rest of the tea down with shaky hands. “The reason the match was so close and the Commander was able to donate what I needed was.... ugh.... because he is.... he is.... my father....” ..........TBC "Knowledge becomes wisdom only after it has been put to practical use."
