Just read Brian Robson's note on update KB967715
This relates to the Windows Autorun feature that starts a CD/DVD when you put
it in your drive. There is one article I have found (but not yet fully read )

on how to disable Autorun but whether this gives a solution I have no idea -
YET !
I think at the end of the day the problems all go back to a false entry in the
Registry which in turn leads the to the updating problems. If I can locate the
corrupted entry then in theory it should be a simple matter to alter. As I said
before I will have a look in the New Year when things are a little quieter.
