Mike, I have version 8 (which I downloaded with your help some months ago). On
switching on tonight all is now fine!! I am wondering if there is, or has been,
a problem at AVG. Just seems a bit strange that sometimes it just doesn't want
to play.
Apologies for missing latest CUSS sessions - busy time of year.

I replied:
Diana, which version of AVG are you using - I had just the problem you
described on my wife's machine on Friday - she had version 7.5.something, not
8.0
I upgraded it to the free 8.0 version and the e-mail (well, all access scans)
was re-enabled.
To find current version:
a.. Right click on the AVG icon in the taskbar (right hand side)
b.. Click on Open AVG user interface
c.. Click on the Help menu tab
d.. Click 'about AVG' --à version number.
Get version 8.0 from:
http://free.avg.com/download-avg-anti-virus-free-edition (and select the
Download button at the bottom of a column marked 'AVG Free')
If you are already on 8.0 then we'll have to think again!
